Happy Mom's Day

Looks like we're getting together on Friday the twelfth for Mothers day, not sure where yet??

We went to Mo. Botanical Gardens last week.  They were setting up for a summer long exhibit of glass artwork.  It's called Chihuly and St. Louis is the only botanical garden they have shown it at.  They have several exhibits around the world, a large one in London.

They usually have some beautiful lily pads out here, but it looks like Christmas tree ornaments floating in water.  The finished exhibit is called "Onion pieces." The Climatron is in the background, there will be a large exhibit inside.

This is taken in the rose garden. Usually there are climbing roses covering this arch in the summer.  Looks like a bunch of yellow snakes or a solar flare!  They really are all very beautiful when the sun shines on them

I think that the sheep family has two new offsprings.

Lots of tulips of all colors were in bloom at the gardens.  These red ones were spectacular
Iris's were just starting to bloom.  They come in just about every color.  Some of them look like orchids

   We celebrated Larry's birthday a little late as he was out of town and combined Easter and Sue's birthday also.  It's getting kind of hard to get everyone together at the same time, especially since Amy and Brian are away at college.  It was nice to see everyone.  Bert and Mike cooked us all a big breakfast and the weather co-operated by being a balmy spring day.  Kaylie was very quiet at first but soon enjoyed being the center  of attention and acted like a hollywood starlet!  She is becoming quite the actress.  It's funny to hear her talk now, she really bawled the dogs out for misbehaving.  We all had a great time, guess the next time will be around May for Mothers day, although last year I think we combined that with our annual June family reunion.  We'll be in Vegas the latter part of May so see what happens.
