This is the entrance to my garden, ignore the rustic shed !

Each year I put more plants in, this year I have elephant ears  pampas grass  hibiscus  Zinnias  Aloe Vera

mums, daylilies, Iris, Marigolds,

and a perennial called the Sanddune wallflower, roses  moonflowers   hydrangea  day lilies  and tiger lilies.

Click on the name of the flower above for more information than you probably need!

My favorite plant, elephant ears, last

year they got as big as me

A few assorted butterflies on my only tree in my yard (Maple).

This is one of my two gargoyles that guard my garden

No garden would be complete without faeries

and another faerie riding on a unicorn..... watch out for the raccoon!  I put up the owl to scare away the squirrels

and rabbits, but they just ignore him.

A few more critters having a meeting, and me near three of my elephant ears.

Watch a short movie of a moonflower opening

Next morning fading away

Moonflowers open at night but only last one night.  Each evening they start to open then by late morning the flower falls off and a seed pod forms.  The pod is covered with thorns and is something like a sweet gum seed.

Some Pampas grass that I just planted this year, with a few zinnias around them. Hostas on the right

Close-up of one of my purple Zinnias.  One thing I really like about zinnias is they come in all different  colors.  All the way back by the fence is where I have two hibiscus plants.  On the right are zinnias and marigolds, in the spring daffodils bloom in the same spot.  Far to the left are several moonflower plants, competing with some late sprouting elephant ears.

This is a wildflower perennial called Sanddune Wallflower.  They bloom early and are very hardy.

These are Simplicity roses, most of my other roses have died out and I have gone to a annual flower garden mostly now.  St. Louis is a hard climate for roses because of the high heat and humidity.

My only vegetables, tomato plants, so far very few tomatoes ripeningThese are the only vegetables you will find in my garden.  Six tomato plants, they have just now started to give me a lot of tomatoes.  (June 29th 05)

I have one castor bean plant that survived my attempts to kill the ants by spraying with "Raid"  It's about 7 feet tall and still growing.....Thanks to my buddy    Glenn

This plant is almost 8 feet tall on Sept. 15, 2006.  It's growing in my mulch pile with a moonflower and elephant ears in foreground

update on castor bean plants Sept  click on bean plant
